Mission
Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Community College Inc (HKCC) provides education and training to adult learners to qualify for better employment opportunities, personal growth, wellbeing and the advancement of community values.
HKCC’s Philosophy
HKCC strives to present affordable programs rich in diversity, appeal and currency to all members of the community in a stimulating, comfortable and positive learning environment.
HKCC believes in intervening and supporting through education and training to relieve the poverty or distress experienced by the disadvantaged, disabled, post-traumatic victims, the homeless, women in crisis, the long-term unemployed, migrants and refugees who reside in the communities of Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai.
Believes in community
Since 1925, HKCC has been an active part of the constantly evolving local community. It was founded on catering for the needs of individuals – many deprived coming back from military service – desiring to improve education to qualify for better employment opportunities.
Today, HKCC continues its rationale particularly in its vocational education and training (VET) programmes in assisting and supporting people in need. Also HKCC offers a comprehensive suite of art and leisure courses such as painting, pottery, yoga, photography and language courses which offer intellectual stimulation and companionship to a large number of seniors in the community. HKCC hosts a major Art Show event each year which is open to the public.
Community building
Our students are mainly referred by employment and support agencies based in Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai, specialising in disability services, mental health and victims of domestic violence. The Team at HKCC is often graced with success stories from students achieving employment and/or independence within the community.

We believe in both the intellectual and personal growth of learners. We work closely with nearby reputable organisations for the purpose of launching careers through skills and building confidence.
